Latasha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has experience as a mental health provider for the past 8 years, providing counseling and therapeutic interventions to children, adolescents, and adults in a community-based setting. Latasha holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Virginia State University in 2015 and obtained her master’s degree from Walden University in 2017. Latasha obtained her LCSW in Virginia in May 2023, her LICSW in Vermont in August 2023, and also licensed in Washington D.C. in September 2023.  Latasha is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers Virginia Chapter.

 

As a Licensed Clinical Social Work, Latasha provides a therapeutic approach to adolescents and adults who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress in their daily routine. You do not have to go through this journey alone. Having a safe, confidential, and comfortable space to work through any challenges or stressors you are currently experiencing is important. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and compassionate space that allows you to build confidence and skills to face daily life stressors.

 

My approach is based on the cognitive-behavioral approach which ties emotions and behaviors to specific "automatic thoughts." These thoughts can be subconscious and are learned over time from our experiences. A key to counseling is uncovering these cognitive distortions, recognizing how they affect our reactions, and replacing them with more adaptive ones. Latasha also utilizes a holistic approach to focus on the individual's emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
